Originally from Belgium, now residing in the UK, Hilde Cannoodt is internationally known for her philosophy on fusion dance. With over 2 decades of experience as a dancer, teacher, choreographer, performer, choreologist, … she has a wealth of experience to draw from. She has created these dance classes to introduce her technique to dancers in Kigali. Focus will be on coordination, isolation techniques, flow, footwork, floorwork, articulations of the spine, travelling sequences, … and we will draw from a large range of styles: Hip Hop, house, belly dance, flamenco, West African dance, jazz, contemporary dance and ballet. This course is free, however it is on invite only. Please check all the dates and make sure that you can make all of the dates.
EVERY Tuesday and Thursday starting the 5th of December until the 1st of February.
DATES to note in your diary: 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21 December. 2, 4, 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25, 30 January. 1 February. Classes are in Kicukiro, location to be confirmed, classes are every Tuesday and Thursday from 10.30am - 12.30pm (please arrive at 10.15am!)
Requirements of participants:
- Participants need to cover their own transport costs to and from the studio (location: Kicukiro, exact location to be confirmed)
- The course is not suitable for beginners. Only people will some years of experience in dance will be accepted onto the course. Dancers are required to send a video of their work. (link in application form)
- Participants need to attend all sessions. They are allowed to miss one session maximum.
- Participants need to arrive on time (if you are not 10 minutes early, you are already late!)

You will be required to send a link (youtube for example) of a video of yourself dancing, this can be a rehearsal and can just filmed on a smartphone.
