a 6 week yoga course in Kimihurura, Kigali (suitable for beginners)

In this 6 week course we will learn the essence of yoga. Yoga is a practice that offers tools to help people connect to their body, their mind and their spirit. Hilde’s style is a gentle flow yoga, where focus is about turning within to create awareness of body and mind. In each class she will bring some attention to yoga philosophy, pranayama breathing techniques, a short meditation practice, asana practice (the physical postures) as well as savasana for relaxation. During the asana practice attention will go to correct body allignment for injury prevention, some core strengthening and an all round practice so the whole body gets a full workout. Each week we will focus on a theme that can be practiced on as well as off the mat, with very practical tips on creating a more balanced and stress-free life. Breathing techniques (pranayama) can greatly benefit anyone dealing with some anxiety or stress related issues and Hilde will bring extra attention to postures that are beneficial for the modern day student (excellent for people with office jobs, for example. Yoga can help greatly for shoulder, neck, back relief)

location: City Arts Kigali, nr 18, KG 672 street, Kimihurura, Kigali, Rwanda (Kings Hostel)

WHAT TO WEAR? Students can wear anything that makes them feel comfortable! We will stretch our bodies in different ways, so no jeans: tracksuit bottoms will work great.

Course fee: 20k RWF for 6 week course, or 4k RWF for a drop in class, to be paid in cash at the beginning of the class.
