Thursday evening belly dance classes in Remera

With its roots in ATS® and American Cabaret, Hilde's style of Fusion Belly dance is a hybrid dance style, eclectically combining elements of street dance, flamenco and Indian dance.

Using body isolations to express the music, the embodiment of the musical layers is key in this art form: from percussive to melodic. Contrasting dynamic movement from liquid undulations to sharp hip drops are characteristic to this unique style of dance.

location: Soho Fitness Remera (Remera Corner Building, KG 17 avenue - next to AirTel Remera) parking on KG213 street.

WHAT TO WEAR? Students can wear anything that makes them feel comfortable! A suggestion is wearing some fitted leggings with fitting tank top or T shirt and bringing a scarf to accentuate the hips. We dance barefoot so if you prefer to wear something on your feet, it is recommended to bring some soft dance shoes like ballet shoes. Even though traditional belly dance costuming often shows midrif, you do not have to show your midrif to take this class!

Fusion Belly Dance: Each week we will work on drills, isolation combos as well as travelling sequences to end with a short choreography that will be different each week. Each week we start with a warm up to prepare our bodies for the technique section of the class. Attention will be on safe dance practice, correct allignment, stylization,... This class is suitable for all levels, from beginner to advanced level dancers.
